About the exhibition
This exhibition presents more than 100 Volvo scale models collected and curated by Bert-Jan Nijhuis, who has dedicated over 40 years to collecting Volvo miniatures. Together, the models tell a story of design, engineering and the evolution of Volvo through the years.
The exhibition offers visitors a closer look at iconic vehicles, rare editions and detailed craftsmanship – from early classics to today’s newest models.
Through the years
From the first ÖV4 and the elegant PV654 to the aerodynamic PV36 Carioca and the popular PV444, the exhibition reflects key moments in Volvo’s history. Rare models such as the P1900 are displayed alongside favourites including the 200 series, XC60, EX90 and the newest ES90.
The exhibition also highlights Volvo’s wider vehicle history, featuring more than passenger cars alone.
Highlights from the collection
Volvo C30
Produced between 2006 and 2013, the Volvo C30 became known for its distinctive design and compact format. Several models on display represent the original 2006 version, alongside smaller 1:64 models featuring colour schemes from Heico and iPd.
Visitors can also discover a rare pre-production sample from Kinsmart that never entered full production.
Volvo C70
The second generation Volvo C70 was produced between 2006 and 2013 and received a front-end update in 2009. In the exhibition, detailed 1:18 scale models highlight the craftsmanship behind Volvo’s merchandise models, with opening parts and carefully recreated interiors.
Both the C70 and C30 celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2026.
Volvo Amazon
One of Volvo’s most recognised models, the Amazon, celebrates its anniversary in 2026. Production began in Sweden in 1956, with the final car leaving the Torslanda factory in 1970.
The exhibition includes the “Sista Amazon” alongside newly produced 1:18 models from Norev, first displayed at World of Volvo before their public release.
Visitors can also discover the unusual white Ole Sommer Volvo concept, originally proposed as a coupé before Volvo chose to move forward with the P1800.
