Evert Taube Concerts at World of Volvo

Evert Taube is one of Sweden's most beloved folk singers and poets, who has had a strong influence on Swedish music and culture through his songs, poems and stories.

On 11 March and on Evert Taube's birthday on 12 March, the Taube Day Concert will be held at World of Volvo in Gothenburg. This concert highlights parts of Taube's rich songbook and storytelling tradition in a new stage interpretation. This year's performance is entitled: ‘Ellinor! Ellinor! Ellinor! – a ship, a daughter, a queen’.

A star-studded tribute to Evert Taube

Welcome to a brilliant evening where Lisa Nilsson, Theodor Jensen, Augustifamiljen, and The Gothenburg Combo take the stage — joined by a lineup of exceptional artists — to honor the legacy of Evert Taube.

The performance is a musical and theatrical odyssey in two acts, weaving the name Ellinor through Taube’s entire body of work. From his very first song “Ellinors vals” (1917), where Ellinor is a Bohuslän sailing vessel, through “På kryss med Ellinor”, “Brevet från Lillan” and “Ellinor dansar”, all the way to the prose book “Vallfart till Trubadurien och Toscana”, in which Taube pays tribute to Eleanor of Aquitaine — the symbol of love’s and the troubadours’ golden age.
